Thanks for subtly correcting me—I classified it as an obituary but upon reading it a 23rd time it lacked details and formality of one. So I gracefully called out my own naivety because u can’t possibly know everything.
You know, the minute I think I know everything is the minute I know nothing.
We don’t have enough people modeling how to stand corrected, how to gracefully admit errors in information environments and it’s time for me—at least—to continue to humble myself.
Coming from you that means a lot. I shared about how incredibly talented she was with my therapist and then so many things popped up for me. The unfair comparisons my mom & aunties would make kept us from not individually shining.
While I’m not a piano virtuoso like Flack, I do believe we all have significant amount of light in us all. Your song lyrics are beautiful. So is your poetry.
